My name is Matias, I'm the creator of "El Gato Negro" documentary film.
Juan Pedro, also known as El Gato Negro, was a pioneering singer in Latin American Rock & Roll during the dictatorial reign of Augusto Pinochet.
Under Pinochet hundreds of thousands of Chilean people and especially artists were killed or disappeared. Juan Pedro fought back with his music and even opened his own music production company called “Gato negro” until one day he was never to be seen again.
The film reveals the journey of Gato Negro’s son, who travels to Chile to look for his lost father, his heritage, his past.
I’m el Gato Negro’s lost son and this is my journey.
